Yahoo also offers an advertising network for publishers. But you need a product or content on your site that will drive traffic.

www.fynd.tk
http://flyingpantz.blogspot.com/2009/12/making-money-with-adsense.html - ksara

2) I only used clicbank for a little while but I been working on this site right here:
http://www.payitforwardtraffic.com/?ref=Palermo1
It is basically a site where you get people to join but at the same time your advertise your website as well as revenue exchange. I have been making some decent money using this site and it's growing fast. Fairly new site

My Blog: http://ezymoneyfromhome.blogspot.com/ - Gonz

___________________________________________________

Question 5
Does Microsoft promote their products well?... Do you feel that Microsoft does an adequate job in promoting and advertising their products?

Answers
1) if you work for MS tell them Windows SUCKS - anon

2) They do a good job promoting.. It's that they make their money off of people that aren't techies. Microsoft always makes software that is bloaty and slow. They have consistently ignored web standards and designed their software in direct competition to others..I guess that's what they should do?? Anyway, this is why people now use Opera, Firefox, Chrome, etc...and soon google will come out with an operating system. Which is why I think they tried to do good with this current version of windows 7. It's by far the only operating system that MS has done right it seems. They still try to impose their formats on everyone else though..such as wmv vs mp4 and the like. - ksara

___________________________________________________

What is affiliate marketing?

Question 1
What is affiliate marketing?...

Answers
1) It's where one site sells a product and offers high commission to others to sell it for them. just about every product on the net has an affilliate scheme, but it's hard work. An easier way to make money from affilliate marketting is to sign up with clickbank as a vendor. Then create a product, offer a high commission such as 60% and get all their top affilliates to sell it for you. - yipyap

2) Posh word for pyramid selling! - luludoodie

3) Agree with previous post. If we will elaborate it more, then Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts. It is an application of crowdsourcing.

The Affiliate Marketing industry has four core players at its heart: the Merchant (also known informally as 'Retailer' or 'Brand'), the Network, the Publisher (also known informally as 'the Affiliate') and the Customer. The market has grown sufficiently in complexity to warrant a secondary tier of players, including Affiliate Management Agencies, Super-Affiliates and Specialized Third Parties vendors.

Affiliate marketing overlaps with other Internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, and in some sense display advertising. On the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques, such as publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.

Affiliate marketing—using one website to drive traffic to another—is a form of online marketing, which is frequently overlooked by advertisers.[citation needed] While search engines, e-mail, and website syndication capture much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing carries a much lower profile. Still, affiliates continue to play a significant role in e-retailers' marketing strategies

More you can get from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affiliate_

Thanks,

Ravshan - Rentate.com

4) Its where you sell another persons products and get a percentage. Clickbank and affiliatewindow are good places to start, and they give you everything you need - Walter

5) Affiliate Marketing is where a merchant (for example Amazon.co.uk) teams up with a partner - the "affiliate" - to promote one of their products in return for a commission on each sale made.

The affiliate could then send traffic from their own website or blog to Amazon via their individual 'affiliate links'. These will then add a 'cookie' (web jargon for some tracking code) which will record if and when there's a sale.

Affiliate marketing is seen often as one of the best ways to make money online since you can mooch off other peoples efforts at product creation - but it is dependent on driving traffic and 'warming each visitor up' so that they'll buy once they click through onto the merchant site.

For the record, Amazon's affiliate program (Amazon Associates) is very good at converting - although the cookie only lasts 24 hours, so you only get credit (and commission) on sales if the buyer checkouts within 24 hours of clicking through. - Fryed7

6) Affiliate programs- are different to affiliate marketing and refral programs Company's pay you to send people to there website

Affiliate marketing- is were you join a Company/Website (E.g clikbank) and sell there products and get payed. Or sell business opportunity (the same as the one you have joined and are doing)

Referral programs- you make money by join the site and when people join you get payed or payed when the person who joined makes money (this can be with affiliate programs and affiliate marketing) - soulman247

___________________________________________________

Question 2
How can i be a Business marketer?... What degree do i need to be a successful business man

What must i major in ?

How difficult the classes will be ?

The average start off salary?

How long will i be in School for until i am working?

Answers
1) Director of Marketting was named one of the highest paying jobs with the least amount of education.
To me marketting involves getting people to buy things that they don't really want or need and companies need this.

I can't imagine the classes being difficult.
Business, marketting, economics...
You will need a 4 year college degree, and possibly a 2 year masters to make over 100K.

Are your parents saving up for your college?
There are many tricks into moving finances around so you can qualify for as much student aid as possibly.
Ask here in finance if you have questions.
/ - Judy

2) You don't need alot of hours if you want to be successful in marketing, but it depends on what you want to do.

I started a online business marketing a few weeks ago and it goes pretty well. You can say that it's looking good to me. I've posted a link in the Source-box with the guy who really helped me out with everything. If your site is for your 'business' then you should submit it to Google Local Business: this can help you can gain top search results in Google for your business products or services using the Local Business service from Google. You will need to register for a googlemail account then submit your website / business details to Google's local business centre.

Marketing your Website using Directories and Website Links

The next step is to get links to your website. This is one of the most important things that you can do to help your website with regard to internet marketing and search engine results. To do this you will need to list your website on as many websites and directories as possible. Directories operate in one of 3 ways: Paid Listing Directory, Free and Reciprocal Link Directories.

Paid Listing Directory: for a listing fee your website is listed, often these are higher quality directories as only serious website owners and business's will pay to be listed. These are usually the fastest way to get listed and get links to your website, as the paid listing directories are run as a business. There are niche/specialist and general directories.

Free Directories: it can take a long time to get your website listed. As the service is free, there may be little or no control of the quality of websites being listed.

Reciprocal Link Directories: these again can take time before your website is listed and your website will only be listed after you provide a link to them.

Website owners wishing to promote their new website in the search engines are often in a hurry to 'get results' so the listing service offered by Paid Listing Directories is the fastest way to get links to your website.

1. You should try and get as many links to your websites as possible (add your website to directories)
2. Try to get keyword links, these are links that use 'content relevant keywords' as the anchor text. - Choicex

3) you can promote your website by engaging in social media networking. social media sites are helpful in bringing your site page views, bring you followers to check out your site. bookmarking is also helpful, you can do it manually or with software. join forums and internet marketing communities where you can freely introduce your site. - Anuu

___________________________________________________

Question 4
best place online to get business cards printed on specialty paper?...

Answers
1) i open new shop in Unite Arab Emirates i had a good business last year but now the buseniss is not
very well so i am thinking about how to increase my sales ..... i hope i find the good soloution from this page .... i sure - MEZRAB.r

2) vistaprint has relatively good stuff and prices. - strong mocha

3) Vistaprint is great, fast & cheap...I use them all the time! Check them out... - KimG

___________________________________________________

Question 5
Looking for a good paid survey site.?... I'm looking for a good reliable paid survey site to make a little money on the side.

Answers
1) You probably will not find any.

Some sites give points to get you little things like DVDs. That is the good ones I have found, but there are not any that give big money. - Varasamy S

2) You could try

https://www.surveysavvy.com?id=4145838&action=join

I found it to be a reliable site. There are a lot of surveys to choose and bellow the title of each survey is the amount of money they pay per survey.
After you complete it they pay you.

With this site you can also earn some money completing FREE offers, clicking ads in the PTC Area and winning some easy Contests.

It's not a scam site, a friend of mine has already been paid, and I'll recieve my first payment soon :)
However, if you don't believe me this site has a forum where there is a special section of payment proofs where the users show their payments.
If you are from US or from UK, then you're lucky because most of the high paying free offers are only able for these countries, I'm Spanish :(

Well, I hope you enjoy this site, happy earnings ;) - lorita

___________________________________________________

Updated December 11, 2009, 6:25 pm

how do I make the post man stop giving me newspaper advertisements?

Question 1
how do I make the post man stop giving me newspaper advertisements?... I tried leaving him a note in my box saying, please save paper and don't give me any more newspaper advertisements. But he gave me twice as many. I don't know who sends them out, so I don't know who to write to to tell them to stop, but they fill up my mailbox, get on my nerves, and end up in the trash faster than poop in the pot.

It's the most depressing thing in the world to open my box when i'm waiting for exciting mail and out falls a pile of damned advertisements that I am now responisible for cleaning up and disposing of.
by the way, I have no idea which category to put this under.

Answers
1) The postman isn't the one printing and sending you these adverts, so telling him to "save paper" is ridiculous. Do you think he's got a little printing press in his truck cranking them out? He delivers what he's given to deliver, and he certainly doesn't have the authority to throw some of it out instead. How much extra work do you want him to do for you (for nothing)?

If you want to know who's sending them, *look* at them! You can try asking the people whose name is all over them to stop sending them. But odds are they don't keep a specific mailing list, and just pay the postal service to deliver to every house in the area. Sorry.

Bottom line: get over it. If you're too lazy and whiny to handle the responsibility of recycling your own junk mail, you're going to have a hell of a time dealing with the rest of being a grown-up. - JAQ

2) Get one of those letterbox signs that says "NO JUNK MAIL"

Or one of the signs that says "F*** the dog Beware of ME!!!"

LOL! - dillon

3) tell the postman or the local police (file a complaint) - A.J.

___________________________________________________

Question 2
what site is the best site for me to promote my music?... best site for me to promote my music

Answers
1) myspace,
or a youtube channel. - Ally M

2) Ok, I see you are into the HIP HOP music industry. You need to ask yourself a few questions before you get your answer.
1. Do you have a following, if so...do you have distribution?
2. What type of websites does your target market visit on a daily or weekly basis. In other words, what website do you and people that listen to hip hop music visit on a daily basis or weekly basis to find out who came out with new music or to find out the latest hip hop news?
Example:billboard.com, Murderdog magazine's website, allaccess.com, you local radio stations website, hiphop.com?

3. Have you thought of investing in yourself as an artist? In other words, most Program Directors at radio stations now and days look for many things in a upcoming recording artist before they play them on the radio;
A. Does the Artist have a talent? Example: Can they sing or rap or can the dance like Chris Brown?
B. Does the artist have a following?
Example: Does the artist have a track record of hit songs or is the artist a well know upcoming artist like a Drake!
C. Can people buy the album if I play it on my station? Example: Everything on the radio has a value, the things the On Air DJ mentions within their talk show, The commercials they play, The way they always mention their website and even the music they play! They play that music by agreements with major record companies to increase record sales at local retail shops!
D. What has the artist done in investing in themselves that will insure me to invest in them?
Example: What type of marketing plan does the artist have coordinated for the upcoming 6 to 9 months that will appeal to the general public? Do they have a music video? Do they have a TV & Radio campaign? Do they have a internet campaign?
In other words, how will you convince others to invest in you if you haven't invested in yourself!
What I'm trying to get at is, put a good $200 to $300 together and look into buying banner ads on some of the general public's favorite social websites!
Example: Yahoo.com, Google.com, Facebook.com and Myspace.com!

Don't fill you your time trying to send out messages and bulletins on a MySpace friends home page, it’s too time consuming and it's not too effective as people think!
Example: E-40, Tec-9, Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Dubbie, Spice1 and many bay area recording artist all use social general public websites like MySpace.com to promote their album release!

Did you know when Tec9 put out his latest album, he made sure to coordinate an aggressive MySpace.com banner advertising campaign? The banners he bought were the top banners on your homepage when people log in and the small square banner ads located on the right hand side of the home page! His campaign only focused on specific markets like San Francisco, Modesto, Fresno, San Jose, Sacramento and Oakland.

Look into doing the same for your music because it doesn't cost as much as people think. When you get a chance, go to myspace.com main index page where is shows the small log in section on your right hand side, industry news and movies! Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the link the say's "Advertise".
Remember, MySpace was made for music groups to promote their music. They'll let you do a ad campaign for as low as $100-$300. Plus you can run these ad's only in areas that you want to focus in! Example: Let’s say I'm a hip hop artist, and I want to run ads on Myspace.com. I can coordinate an online banner ad campaign on MySpace that will only run in Fresno, CA, Modesto, CA and San Francisco, CA and my ad's will only be shown to single Males and Females, 11 -24 years of age that listen to Rap, Hip Hop, Hyphy Music, Hardcore underground, Rock and Pop!
Funny huh?
Plus this type of campaign makes you look like a pro! This type of campaign you would mention in your marketing plan when you take it to a distributor. Maybe they might have some clients in the markets you are coordinating your online campaign. In other words, this kind of campaign will help your CD distribution. Check it out when you get a chance.
Good Luck. - Mr Fantastic

3) You can take a look at this site
maybe it can help you
http://www.mp3-music-download-sites.com/ - R

___________________________________________________

Question 3
Why do we use the scale of 1-5 in surveys and questionnaires?...
Ok, why do we use the scale of 1-5 in surveys questionaires and scientific research, as apposed to 1-10, or 1-20, etc.. It seems that generally people are used to ranking things on a scale of 1-10 , but for research purposes it seems that 1-5 is preffered. why is this?

Answers
1) What is your question exactly? Are you asking why we use number scales on surveys or specifically the 1-5 scale? Be more specific and I'll give you a more specific answer. - michaeldrennie

2) Think about it isnt it so clear,?from smaller to greater. - dadh

3) For statistical purposes.

After a survey, comapnies like to brag that 50% of their customers rated them a 4 or 5.
If you had too large of a scale, those sort of statistical bragging rights wouldn't be possible. - Mayan master

___________________________________________________

Question 4
I want to make it to the WNBA...any ideas for practicing?... I jsut want to get a lot better at bball and I need some more exercises. I need ideas. Any body got some!!!????
And to the idiot that asked if women play sports...hell ya women play sports. What do u think the WNBA is for???

Answers
1) Women play sports? - Ian

2) Try doing lots of shooting drills and ball handling drills. As long as you can handle the ball well and shoot well you will always have the option of being pro whether it's here or overseas. - Jack D

___________________________________________________

Question 5
Any ideas how to advertise my website...?... Hi I need ideas on ways to advertise my website, WWW.COMFYTEX.COM. I've tried Facebook, Twitter, Shopzilla and leaflets in newspapers..any other ideas? Would appreciate any hints and tips. Thank you in advance.

Answers
1) You should add some keywords to your site, at the moment you ony have the site name:
<meta name="keywords" content="ComfyTex.com " />
You should do some keyword research relating to your products and add the most popular such as
<meta name="keywords" content="pillows, duvets, blankets and so on" />
This will make your site more searchable with google etc.
You can download a programme called web ceo (google it) It's free and is a set of optimisation tools to help get your site ranked. Also, they do a free online university course in SEO (search engine optimisation) and it's worth browing that for extra tips. Blogging and flogging is the way! Write short articles on blogging sites with a lot of traffic with a link to your site. Also with web ceo, it includes a search engine submitter and i think it now incorporates an article submitter.
If you want to pay for advertising, you should join google adwords, this is free to join. You agree an amount with google, such as 50 dollars per month. You fill out a small ad and google put your ad out everywhere rellevant. You pay them per click, an agreed amount. You can never go over your monthly amount and may even pay less, but it's a great way of getting your site seen.
You may also think about offsetting that cost by also joining google adsense. Adsense again is free and this allows you to add a code to your site in an allotted space which google will use for advertising other peoples sites. You will then get per paid click. - yipyap

2) Make sure you do A LOT of research before you sign up for Adwords and start paying, it is very very easy to spend an enormous amount of money and gain nothing.

If you can afford it, a local SEM (search engine marketing) expert can help you set up an Adwords campaign and I highly recommend it for a beginner. When you're paying by the click, its very easy to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars a month and not gain a single sale. However, a professional can track sales (called "conversion tracking") and find which clicks are worth paying for and which clicks are not worth paying for.

Google has some good video overviews on their help section, but remember, SEM experts make $60,000-$250,000 a year, so it requires a skill set that can take years and years to master.

Also, there are some basic SEO (search engine optmization) techniques you can use. Just search for "basic SEO" and you'll find millions of pages of tips and tricks.

Good luck! - type='text'>How much can you earn by making business cards for people?

Question 1
How much can you earn by making business cards for people?... Per business etc
Does anyone do this and how much can you earn?
Its just my digital graphics tutor made £100 doing this and is encouraging me to do it...

Answers
1) I don't think anyone with a PC would pay for this service anymore. It's way too easy to just make your own at home. - sunset

2) I have seen a company charging just £1.29 for 500 cards so no, you aren't going to make much at all. - sheetwowsheet

3) Definitely not as much as the people you are making the cards for - yankeefan33

___________________________________________________

Question 2
What can I do to stop At&T's aggressive marketing?... We receive mail every 2-3 days. The mail comes in so many different formats- in unmarked letters, flyers, and a huge sign was hung from my door handle today. We have had the staff come door knocking and you have to shut the door in their faces because they have an answer for anything you say. They come knocking on weekends and evenings after dark. The amount of paper mail we receive should be classified as environmental terrorism- the amount of paper we receive is terrible- and NO we won't be switching to AT and T!! EVER!! We have told these people over and over when they have called and door knocked. Exhausting.

Answers
1) I'm getting buried in their junkmail as well. A big complaint people have about them is that their prices are not very good. I'm thinking if they'd even cut the volume of advertising in half, they could pass on a much better deal to their customers... and then gain business by actually being competetive and not sucking as a company. - Jay S

2) To stop the door to door pest you need to put a 'NO SOLICITING' sign on the door, if they come when it is up call the police and have them arrested for trespassing. As for the mail just throw it out. - Ms.Franky

3) Hang a no trespassing and no soliciting sign in your yard. They have to obey or they are breaking the law. Take pictures when they do and take it to the police to file charges. (Or borrow a real unfriendly dog) As for the phone you can go to the National do not call registry. here's some help;

https://www.donotcall.gov/

https://www.directmail.com/directory/mail_preference/faq.aspx

And the big secret - when they call- TELL them to put you on the do not call list and get conformation!!! I used to work at a call center and they have to obey. - scangineer

___________________________________________________

Question 3
What is affiliate marketing?...

Answers
1) •Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affiliate_marketing

•A specialized form of marketing where an advertiser seeks to advertise or sell products or services through an affiliate network
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/affiliate_marketing

•Affiliate marketing is a method of promoting web businesses through revenue sharing advertising between two websites. yes, legal and non-annoying is to have an "Opt-in" page on your blog or website. What this does is exchange their first name and email address in exchange for an item of high-perceived value. That could be a 10-page report, or free hard-to-come-by information that will help your subscriber immediately, an automatic solution.

For example, if you had a blog that talks about weight training, your FREE information or report, etc., could have 5 top Ways to get washboard abs in under 7 days.

People are willing to exchange their information for yours IF they believe it to be of great value to them, and ideally, solve a problem or provide an instant solution.

Good Luck,
Cheers - Terri - acaramellegirl

___________________________________________________

Question 2
How can I drive traffic(viewers) to my website so as to promote my product? They offer targeted traffic in bulk for low prices. - J

2) You can try to build a list what i do is this:

go to forums, auto hitters .... Make a page i made this one http://www.trmslan.be/optin/ there you setup a newsletter subscription and reward the people to subscribe with a free gift once they register they can download there free gift an you can send all the subscribers a newsletter with the product you want to promote.

Or you sign up with auto hitter to gain possible clients but auto hitters are not so good i run myself one time to time i get a sell true my auto hitter http://autohits.trmslan.be.

Maybe take a look at one of our scripts at http://www.trmslan.be to see if there is a script or software that you can use, they are quit affordable to.

Warm Regards. - Michele

___________________________________________________

Question 3
Catchy blog title about fashion?... I'm making a new blog, about fashion. Advertising alone can indeed sell just about anything. Suppose you somehow ended up with a box full of something really disgusting.... let's say dead snakes. Advertise them as an environmentally friendly garden treatment. Before they decompose they scare away the birds which would eat the seeds. When they decompose they provide enrichment to the soil. They require no care and no maintence. And for a limited time if you buy one you will get a second one free! The campaign backfired, however, when local authoritities mistook the devices for bombs.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/31/boston.bombscare/index.html

BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Authorities have arrested two men in connection with electronic light boards depicting a middle-finger-waving moon man that triggered repeated bomb scares around Boston on Wednesday and prompted the closure of bridges and a stretch of the Charles River.

Meanwhile, police and prosecutors vented their anger at Turner Broadcasting System Inc., the parent company of CNN, which said the battery-operated light boards were aimed at promoting the late-night Adult Swim cartoon "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." Read rest at link provided.

see also
http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2007/02/01/marketing_gambit_exposes_a_wide_generation_gap/ - PiggiePants

___________________________________________________

Question 5
Sale picture is misleading towards wrong product?... I went to Walmart today for their Black Friday sales, I got there around 7:00am, so i new all the good stuff would be gone. I did find a few items that were on my list, for example: an 8 gig SanDisk Cruiser. In the Walmart Sales Magazine, it was on sale for $14.00, however, when I got to the register (and price listed in the aisle), it rang up to $19.00.

I explained this to the check out lady, and she referred me to customer service. Customer Service said that my product didn't exactly match the picture in their ad. Even though it was the same model, same manufacturer, same (nearly) everything, the logo on the object in the paper was printed vertically, and the one i purchased was written horizontally.

It's still a good price for an 8 gig, but I feel somewhat swindled. What are your opinions on the issue?

Answers
1) Whether a logo is printed horizontally or vertically makes no difference, and it seems a whole waste of energy to get all lathered up over such a thing. But if the store is using this as a ploy to get another $5 then they are guilty of bait and switch or false advertising.

I would not buy anything at Wal-Mart because I don't want to have to waste two hours of my time standing on the customer service line taking the thing back when it breaks three days later. - Gorkbark Porkduke Gefunken Fubar

___________________________________________________

!!!!!!CAN I put up signs for my business anywhere? whats illegal?

Question 1
!!!!!!CAN I put up signs for my business anywhere? whats illegal?... I need to advertise, is it illegal to put signs on cars? doorsteps? how do i find out whats legal!!!

Answers
1) go to ur town hall ask them - Tiana

2) No not everywhere, you cant put them on signs, buildings, cars, bus's, but there's no law on putting them on BRIDGES! because who ever drives by has to see them!
the best way to advertise is TV Newspaper, going to a busy restaurant and ask them if they can advertise your product or business with flyers. - Zach

3) Often, your city will have ordinances with guide lines on such things. However, sometimes asking your Courthouse on these matters is worse than having never asked. I have a friend who was going to put up a 4 by 8 foot sign near his home based business. He said I should have just put up the sign anyway. Once he asked about the size and where it had to be from the street, then the city watched to be sure he did it right. The sign wasn't as effective when put up according to the ordinances because of its location to be legal. - Derail

4) If it is public property then you must ask the proprietor and the likely hood is they will ask for something in return, probably money.
If it is on your territory then you can get neon lights or a big bill board and don't need to ask a soul.

However advertising can cost an arm and a leg and nobody can charge you for sticking your fliers up on the bus stop or in the phone box or painting on the wall unless they can prove it was you.

However, in the long run moonlight advertising does not look good for your business so i would suggest to begin with you just do a bit of canvassing on foot and stick some leaflets through doors for which you need no permission nor fee's to do.

Hopefully this will generate some positive feed back and with the profit you may wish to pay for adverts in the papers or in magazines or even radio coverage and with that you can take your advertising venture to a new level further, god willing it gets that far - BlackyBlue

5) for permanent type signs, check with your local zoning department.

placing a sign on your own car and driving around is legal. placing a sign on someone elses car with their permission is allowed. placing it without permission is not allowed.

placing flyers under the windshield wipers of cars in a parking lot varies. most times the owner of the lot does not allow it even though some choose to ignore it.

going door to door and placing them on the door isn't necessarily illegal. it depends on the solicitation laws in your (or that) community.

placing them on public structures (bridges, buildings, existing signs, phone poles, etc) is not allowed. placing them on private property is allowed with permission from the property owner.

easiest way is back to my initial statement, check with zoning they will know. - JMan

___________________________________________________

Question 2
young man with millons looking for other young man with money to start up big company?... dont text if your not interested

Answers
1) Sounds like a scam. - Sophia

2) I am interested, but you have to send me your money first or I will assume you are not serious. You might want to look into doing searches on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook for people mentioning furniture within a certain mile radius of your store, start a blog to attract search traffic to your website, and make sure you are listed on local search.

Internet marketing will definitely be your best return on a small investment, and it's easier to learn the basics then you think. I'm looking at Residual Cash Forever , Abundant Living System, Magnetic System, and another coming out called Profusionx or ProFusion X leveraging.

What should I do?

Answers
1) Residual Cash Forever is a scam and i agree with that Justice guy, cause when I joined I never heard back from my sponsor who took my money and returned my call. - Marcelus

2) Master Distributor & Training Opportunity:

$3 Trillion is traded daily on the FOREX

Fastest growing FOREX brokerage and training program. I've tried the more traditional means of marketing (direct mailings, cold calling, etc.), but whenever I try to make a contact, I just get shut down. Which I don't blame them because I know when I see an insurance person calling my house, I don't answer and toss out any letter. I've also put the company online, but it just has minimal results (and there are strict guidelines for internet marketing).

I guess I just kind of wanted to do a survey almost... What would make you consider switching insurance companies? What would catch your eye? There are industrial and environmental, social and political, religious and anti-religious propaganda programs at work every moment, in every medium. Television advertising has both explicit and subtle propaganda: Those who are enjoying the advertised product are shown in appealing settings with happy companions, as if the use of this product will bring an abundant and satisfying lifestyle to the buyer, far beyond the actual direct functions of the item. Another example is with regard to global warming: Those corporations that would bear the greatest burden in reversing the trend invest significant efforts to undermine the scientific consensus. Since they can't support their arguments with reputable data, they have to rely on emotional appeals based on "us" versus "them" styles of propaganda.

And how is propaganda seen? For the most part, it is unseen. When it's discovered, it loses its power. Whenever you hear answers, especially when they're offered as The Answer, be sure to ask more questions! The greater truth is that we live in a multi-hued reality. There is very little (if anything) that is truly and purely black or white. We have many choices -- many more, perhaps, than are evident, and certainly more than what will benefit those with The Answer. The truth will be exposed gradually, but eventually. Keep questioning! - Feral

3) All this nonsense about global warming is the best use of propaganda since Adolph Hitler pushed the Arian race. - bigleybill

___________________________________________________

Question 2
how can 2 12 year old make easy money?... well im a 12 year old kid w/ my 12 year old brother and right now we're trying to get some money by selling stuff to our friends and having a allowance of $5 per week but we're trying to save up for a wii which is $200 and right now we have $33.35 so is there any way for us to get money?also Don't say things like mowing, walking dogs, raking leaves,or paper route because im not sure if i can do that where i live.

Answers
1) I used collect bottles and cans and plastic. Collecting recyclables is good for the planet and you can also earn money. Glass is more work, so I would stick to plastic bottles and cans. Plastic is worth the most, but it's lighter so you need more of it. A large garbage bag of cans could get you up to $10 and plastic could be worth even more - "33" , Wiz Kid

2) no such thing as easy money, especially for a 12 yr old - if you can't/won't do any of the things you mentioned, then forget it - you are too young to legally do any other kind of work - Doctor Deth

3) car washing is always good - El

___________________________________________________

Question 3
Why do albums come out on Tuesday?... Is it just a tradition or is it some how more profitable to release CD's on tuesday?

Answers
1) it's a slow retail day, gives the stores time to stock shelves(dvd's get released Tue also) before it gets busier towards the weekend (my guess) - Doctor Deth

2) I think it's a little bit of both. Movies are the same way

I think it's like this: suppose no one in the biz (music, radio, tv, news, and so on) works on weekends. Monday, everything is sent out while people get back to work for the week and get ready for drops. Products drop in stores on Tuesday, and the media has 4 days to talk about it before the weekend. People typically listen to the radio less on weekends. - "33" , Wiz Kid

___________________________________________________

Question 4
Is a logo and signage the same thing, when speaking in visual merchandising terms?... Just want to know if logo and signage or basically the same thing and mean the same thing?

Answers
1) No, they are 2 different things. The logo is the representation of the company, brand or product and the signage is the marketing piece used to promote that product. The signage typically contains the logo for brand recognition purposes, but not always. For example, say you're at Wal-Mart in the razor isle...you might see signage to purchase a new Gillette razor with Gillette's logo on the advertisement. Or you might just see signage that says "BUY ME!!!!" and you have no idea what it is until you walk over and see they are talking about Gillette razors. I've never seen Wal-Mart create signage that way, but you get the point hahaha.

Hope that helps,

Brian M. - Brian

2) A logo is typically a symbol used to represent a company. Such as the red spoon for Nabisco, the P&G for Procter and Gamble, etc. Signage is a term used to describe more of an actual sign itself. For example, at my job they had me design the signage for the tutoring center. What this entailed of was designing an opaque sign that read the name of the department and was to be placed/printed on the glass by the entrance door (not the organization's name). I believe the Men's and Women's signs for bathrooms would also be an example of signage. Signage is basically anything to do with a sign that provides information. For example, signage at a theme park may include a giant billboard with a picture of spongebob on it and reading "kid's rides" under it or something like that. Hope this helps! - J-mo

___________________________________________________

Question 5
***WHY WOULD A NEW VENTURE BE UNLIKELY TO USE INTERNAL RESEARCHH?... Heyy :) Soo...I'm kinda really stuck on this question, caree to helpp me? :

Why would a new venture be unlikely to use internal research?

I cantt figuree thiss outt?

Thankss :)

Answers
1) the answer is

"SO THEY DONT USE CAPS LOCK ANYMORE!" - Fear my Face

2) First you realize that a "new venture" has no experience in marketing/advertising its own products or processes - it can only study like products or services of the competition. The person(s) who developed this product or process has experience only in that particular field - so the inventor would contract with "investor" type corporations or other entitites to provide "research". - dusty_titus

___________________________________________________

Name Product Help Needed?

Question 1
Name Product Help Needed?... I`m designing an Eco friendly soap, I need a name for the product something catchy, any ideas?

Answers
1) enviro-clean - Mirandaa C

2) try this site (i've used it): http://topfin32.100webspace.net/s.php?qid=6AAPdXE - Joseph

3) clean green or spell it cleen green and make it green - ♥emokitty♥_

___________________________________________________

Question 2
How can I promote a landscaping business?...

Answers
1) craislist.org - lotusflower007

2) You can promote as free as you like at social sites such as myspace and facebook. Also, you should invest in business cards as low as $4.95-21.95 at vistaprint. Pass out your cards at local stores, go to the post offices and place an ad and business card. Also with tax season coming up, you should have business cards ready and drop them off at tax preparers offices such as Jackson Hewitt, Liberty Tax Services, or H & R Block to name a few. They will allow you to leave your cards there. - P

3) The best way is once you begin to get jobs you place a sign in the front yard of the home stating "Landscaping by Joe's Landscaping: (or whatever your company name is). Another popular way is to print out some 8-1/2 X 11 flyers and post them at laundromats, grocery stores, etc. Invest in a magnetic sign for the side of your truck (assuming you have a truck) with your company name and phone number. Whenever possible, use the truck with the sign when you go anywhere, even to the grocery store in the evening. Tell all your friends about your business and ask them to tell all of their friends. Get business cards printed up and give them to EVERYONE, any chance you get. For a couple of hundred dollars you can get a few hundred pens imprinted with your name and phone number and hand those out. Leave the pens anyplace people will pick them up, like on the check writing platform at the grocery store. You can do the online ads too, but don't expect too much from them. Online is not always the best way to promote certain businesses (that might get me a few "thumbs down" even if it is true). - formerflyer

___________________________________________________

Question 3
Can anyone tell me the significance of those bathtubs in the Cialis ads?...

Answers
1) There are there to get men to think about being romantic. - Yorky

2) Ah yes....the bathtubs.
You see, the pharmaceutical companies and Madison Ave. are not only playing with your "private" parts, they're playing with your "head" (double entendre intentional).
In Freudian Psychology, supposedly, the bathtub represents a particular part of the female anatomy...that which is meant to be filled by..........a man!
Now, a LITTLE man can be contained in a WATER BUCKET......but NOT a man taking......CIALIS!........THAT requires a BATHTUB!
Capice?
Of course, the Madison Ave slime will deny this to their dying day to avoid lawsuits.....but that's what it is. - pilota300b4

___________________________________________________

Question 4
Difference between 'overall market of a product' and a 'firms marketing strategy'?... Hey. I am doing a marketing assignment on Windows 7. One part asks me to 'define and describe the overall market of the product'. Part two asks to 'describe the marketing strategy'. I am a bit confused on what goes in which section and the meaning of these phrases. Could someone please clarify this for me?

Thanks,
David.

Answers
1) Here there are good sites on business http://webfin4.notlong.com/8AAJxiq - Joseph

2) If the product is Windows 7 the overall market is the total population of stand-alone computers capable of using Windows 7 instead of competing products. In this context, competing products also includes other Windows operating systems, like 2000, XP and Vista, all of which are still in use, as well as operating systems such as Linux and AppleMac specific programs. Microsoft wants to maximise market share by a) having all new computers pre-loaded with 7 and having as high a proportion of existing computer users migrate to 7 by upgrading or replacing the software currently used.
The marketing strategy is the particular strategy to be used to maximise sales of 7 to each of the target market segments. These are nominally the OEM market segment - manufacturers of computers which are sold pre-loaded, and re-sellers of computers who install (pre-load) software before selling retail (which can include second-user machines) and the Replacement market - existing users who can choose whether to upgrade or not, and can choose between a Windows upgrade (to 7) or to adopt a new OS such as Linux. Existing users are both corporate users and personal users. Corporate users have to weigh the benefits of moving to a new operating system; in large organisations this can be very expensive. - Reg V

___________________________________________________

Question 5
What can i sell besides avon?... is there any other product i can sell? like food products or makeup?

all ideas welcome

thanks!

Answers
1) you can create multiple stores in sqipom.com community for free and auctions as well. I would honestly go through garage sales and auction. - Grey

2) There are all kinds of products being sold through direct sales party plans including home jewelry, home decor, pet products, health and wellness products, books, toys, candles, crafts, scrapbook supplies, etc. - lindajs

___________________________________________________

do stores send out black friday ads?

Question 1
do stores send out black friday ads?... how do people find out what stores have will the ads be in the paper any time soon

Answers
1) They're traditionally in the Thanksgiving Day edition of the newspaper. - rtfm

2) Most do, but all have the deals on their web sites. - Common Sense

3) The ads almost always come out as flyers in the Thanksgiving Day newspapers, but you can also look on websites such as www.blackfridayads.com. I dont know if I am allowed to put up signs on the telephone poles where I live (Michigan). I dont want to sell on ebay because I dont have the resources to ship my bath salts anywhere. I have posted my salts in a few yahoo groups and on craigslist but I dont know what else I can do to sell them.
what i mean by i dont have the resources to sell on ebay is that i dont have things to ship with at the moment because I need to sell my products first so i can get money to buy stuff to ship with.

Answers
1) When you make your own product you have an advantage. You set the standards for prices you can sell your product. You will have little to no competition. Your product will most likely be original and rare. Originality sells anything on the market. Consumers love to try new things. If you can come up with a product that people need, you could end up being a millionaire.

The first place you can distribute your product is auction or social marketplaces. This takes a lot of time but you will reach millions of customer right away. This can be the money that keeps you going until you are developed better. Ebay is a great place to start; but I would recommend staying away from ebay for now. Ebay can cost a lot of money to make only a little if you are unexperienced. You can find some great auction places that won't cost you as much as ebay in my top 15 list of 2007-2008.

If you already have a website, put your product on your website. Get a good template or build a professional looking website. Now that you have a website, you have to do the most important thing. ADVERTISE AND MARKET your website and product. So many people make the mistake of just having a website without telling anyone about it. They think being in search engines are good enough.

Promote your product and website to social networks. Especially the ones that let you distribute articles about your product to your friends list. Facebook, technorati, digg, delicious, myspace, are some great places to make some friends. Try and make friends with people that have the same interests as you. Chances are they will be interested in your product as well.

Write some articles about your product. Submit articles to major article websites. These websites get millions of hits everyday. All of these people come to read original articles. Keep your articles original and catchy. Hopefully your product is catchy enough. You can write articles at various places around the internet for free.

Make some friends in forums. Forums can bring you tons of traffic. There are millions of members to various forums out there. Don't underestimate the power of a good forum. Make sure the forums you sign up for are related to your product/business. Don't spam the forums with posts either. That will only get you kicked off or suspended. You want to actually make some friends there. Talk about various topics in the forum. Make sure the forum gives you the option to have a signature. The signature is how you will get people to your website/product. Put your website in the signature. Now, every time you leave a response or start a topic in the forum, people will see your website link and visit your website. Because the forum is related to the topic of your business/product, more people will buy your product. Don't join forums if they don't let you have a signature.

Submit your website to as many website directories as possible. Most website directories will let you submit your website for free. This can be a great way to bring in traffic but can take time to see results. Try and set up the keywords on your website. Put as many keywords as you can that relate to what your product is about. This way search engines will find content related to your business/product. This can be very effective if you get good at it.

Keep the content one your website updated. Update your website at least once a day. Only the newest content makes it to search engine front pages. If the content on your website is over a month old, you don't stand a chance to make it on the front page of Google. The old style of search engines would have let you slide. But new updated search engines are optimized to find the new stuff first. Google is probably the most popular search engine out there. They don't want their readers to find old content on the front page and in the number 1 position. Think about it.

Most of these techniques take time to see results. The results are too overwhelming to ignore. These techniques are very effective if you have time and dedication on your side. Any marketing firm charging you thousands of dollars will advertise the same way if you are lucky. Now you know how to advertise and market your product. Get to work! - harlz

2) OMG

How is anyone going to top that first answer.
I'm not going to sit here and write 4 pages, so I will agree with the above.

But I'll also add Squidoo into this topic. It's a free WEB SITE blog type page. If you read this HARLZ. I think the website below would be good for you as well.

You could make a page about your products in 30 easy. And sell from there as well.

My web page is below. I wrote a book and sell from there.

Cheers from DOWNUNDER

PS I don't understand one thing. "I don't want to sell on ebay because I don't have the resources to ship" The customer pays for shipping, postage. So it makes no difference to you. - Gamerpc

___________________________________________________

I am a residential contractor looking for a good catch phrase..any suggestions?

Question 1
I am a residential contractor looking for a good catch phrase..any suggestions?... I want to place a billboard ad outside of our subdivision. I have always been interested in writing, I am in the process of trying to finish up my memoir but have gotten a little bit of a writers block. I have started posting daily entries on Facebook that I call "You know what pisses me of?" and I would talk about different things that piss me off, situations or issues that everyone can relate to. I was hoping to get some sort of a following with that but as of now its just a few of my Facebook friends and family that read it.

I would really like to get a Blog started that I would be writing in daily, its just I don't know how to go about starting a blog. I know about blog.com or wordpress.com but I am talking about the actual writing. How is a blog suppose to be written? is there some sort of a format I should use? Is there a way to grab peoples attention?

Also, whats a good way to get my blogs notice? how do I go about building up a following of my blogs or writings. How do I advertise myself I guess you can say, I want to get my writings out there and get it noticed.

I look forward to your help, thanks everybody

Answers
1) There are 133 million blogs on the internet today. Most have an audience of one.

You have 2 main choices for providing content. You just enter your thoughts for the day. Whatever you are thinking about goes on the blog. That is the immediacy that blog watchers enjoy.

Or you collect information from many sources and put it all in one place. Knowledge-seekers come to your blog instead of reading 5 different newspapers looking for a particular piece of the news.

The only way to build up a following is to write stuff that is so interesting that people can't wait to read it. - Ed Atun

2) If your interested, I wouldn't mind you writing for my blog.

http://mactticus.blogspot.com

Technology Website!!

A Professionally Designed Website!

Contact me on my website. - Josue

___________________________________________________

Question 5
Question about Clickbank.com?... Do they send you anything other than checks?
They don't send any annoying post letter or anything do they?
Do they ever ring you?
Affiliate program help please!

Answers
1) Clickbank acts as a marketplace.

I've been a clickbank affiliate for over a year and have not received any post letters/flyers from them.

I have never been called by them either.

Hope that helps. It has come time for me to start applying to universities and colleges, and I think advertising may be an option for me. I would be mostly interested in creative advertising, I think, as I am very good in visual arts and english. The only thing is, I am a bit shy, so does all aspects of advertising invovle having really good people skills.

Do you suggest any specific programs or schools?
Any suggestions or comments welcome :)

Answers
1) I am currently doing a marketing focus with a Bachelor of Commerce (co-op) at Memorial University. I think communication skills (including) interpersonal skills are essential if you want to target marketing/advertising from a business perspective. There are creative roles in the business which involve less inter-personal contact (think filming, drawing). But then, you need to know people to get a good job in that type of position. My suggestion: enroll in a business program at a great school like Memorial, beat the shy out of you, and make some connections in the biz while you're at it.

Just as a warning, the starting pay in advertising can be quite low. But with a business degree, you'll have plenty of other options to fall back on (even if only temporarily) - M Dee

2) I am a freshman in college this year :) I am majoring in business administration with a minor in advertising; I am very creative and I think it would be fun as well! I can sometimes be shy too, advertising does involve some people skills but not any more than normal public relations jobs. One thing to warn you about though is that you might have to take speech classes... ugh i know right! I have to take it to get my degree in advertising, and am now working on a 10 minute speech, but I think if you can get past speech class you can do it all :) you also have to take psychology and sociology for that degree which I am taking in the spring :) but i live in tennessee so it may be different in Canada. Overall i think its a good choice of career and hopefully my answer helps you out.... Good luck, and great job on being an honors student :) - Jessica

3) Hello. I am 12 years into my career, have been working in the world of brands, marketing and advertising all that time.
I think you are referring to the creation of advertising in which case there tends to be 2 types of creatives (traditionally) for broadcast advertising - copywriters who write the words, and creative directors who do the picture stuff. They usually work in a pair, one of each though this is not always true. best route into this is to study advertising or design or creative writing as well as media then put together a portfolio as you go along to show what you can do. Creatives do not have to be able to give speeches etc usually because they are thought of as a bit "precious" in the traditional advertising world.
There are other roles in advertising, 2 main areas would be account management where you liaise with a client (eg Coca Cola) about what they need from their ads and you then brief that in to the creatives. You also manage the relationship with the client o a day to day basis. The final area is strategic planning which is all about understanding the customer and the market and using that to help determine what the client brand or company should do next.
But also know that the world of advertising is changing fast. The way it works today depends upon the majority of people consuming their media through the same channels (eg 10 or 15 main TV channels and some local radio stations, plus billboards and newspapers). However this is not the case any more - you are spending your spare time on Yahoo asking questions not watching TV! So the future of advertising is likely to be more fragmented and less "powerhouse" than it used to be. This could be seen as a bad thing, or indeed as an opportunity for you as, coming in young and fresh you won't be as scared by this new way of doing things as all those old creatives who were used to the old world.
If i were you i would try to find an ad creative and talk to them. Maybe search for blogs or similar to identify someone...
As I live in the UK I can't help with schools, sorry! - Liz E

___________________________________________________

Question 2
Where can I find a advertising website?... I'm the leader of a restaurant and game park and I need advertisements. I need business cards, brochures, gift cards, signs, posters, and online advertising. I want them either cheap or free. I already got business cards ready. Please try to make it online, like a link instead of a place to go.

Answers
1) up ur moms butt - meeshie

2) For online advertising, you are best taking a video (nothing fancy, just use a flip camera) & post it on YouTube.com with a link to your restaurant website. It's free & because YouTube is owned by Google, you'll get higher up their page! - OF www.howtolearnbusiness.co.uk

3) hello, purchasing some website traffic is one way of getting instant visitors. I don't know where to go with this.. I was thinking "effects of communication and advertising", but I can't get far w/that. Maybe something like the roles of communications and advertising in our lives?

Answers
1) TwinCityFlyer.info

I would talk about how technology has changed the way business's get their message out.

Internet has almost killed the effectiveness of newspapers.

DVR has really slowed down the way commercial help advertiser's

XM has made standard FM boring.

This is a plug for myself but because of those reason's I created my company.

You could expand on those above ideas for quite awhile

Good Luck! - jasonmurrayus

2) infomercials cost and effectiveness vs general 30 secs television ads - M Dee

___________________________________________________

Question 4
Marking ideas for selling bracelets to raise awareness for brain tumors?... I'm doing a fundraiser at school that involves selling those rubber bracelets (like the Live Strong ones) to raise awareness for brain tumors. I'm having difficulties deciding where to sell them. Do you have any ideas for a target market/location? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answers
1) Good for you! That's awesome you would do this by the way.

Team up with local business's get them to promote themselves with your help. Having business's involved with charity, fund-raising always helps them look like a good guy within the community.

Most business's are very eager to help with this. I live in Lafayette Indiana so I don't know if teaming up with my company would help, if you think I could let me know...but if you had a local business with a web-site I would see if they would set up a link on their site. Team up with the right business and they might even sell them off their web-site for you. Get several business's involved. Have them sell bracelets right off their counter.

This next idea is for the most courageous : )* If you get a business to hold an event with maybe a few bands that would play for charity. Have entrance to the party say "Buy one bracelet per person for entrance" Might have to phrase to say "Donate $5 to get in and get bracelet". This would get you a press release with a newspaper and this would be great exposure for the business and the charity. Try a banquet hall, big restaurants or any place that would hold a reception.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!
TwinCityFlyer.info - jasonmurrayus

2) Gas stations would be great, doctor's offices etc. - PlasticTrees

___________________________________________________

Question 5
Info commercial project help?... In one of my classes we have to make an info commercial about a product that we make up THAT HAS TO WORK! So it has to be something that you can actually use. And since it has to work I can't come up with no ideas! If anyone could give me some ideas that will be very helpful! :)

Answers
1) Think of a product that could be invented that would help your everyday life.
